Specialized Services

Qualified Hospitalists are in short supply, especially in rural communities. Hospitals are forced to spend thousands of dollars a day for locums. Often it’s possible to staff the day shift but travelers or even community doctors are spread too thin to cover the nights.
OffSite Care’s team of Hospitalists are dedicated Internists unencumbered by the distractions encountered by onsite personnel. Our program provides coverage oftentimes, at one third to half the cost of an in-person Nocturnist. There’s no waiting for the on-call provider to get out of bed, get dressed, and drive into the hospital. Our doctors are at the ready to take your call and see the patient when appropriate.
- A hybrid model: daytime in person and night by telemedicine, works well for small to medium sized hospitals.
- Covering the Ward during the day or at night can be provided 100% by telemedicine or in combination with an onsite hospitalist team.
- Round & Respond models help prepare for potential issues before they become problems, with ongoing support as needed.
- Having experts see patients as soon as possible can prevent unnecessary transfers and improve overall patient care.
Having a well staffed hospitalist program ensures patients are seen timely, reduces transfers keeping patients local, improves nursing job satisfaction, and reduces community physician burnout. Additionally, our Hospitalist Team has access to a variety of OSC specialists that can enhance their expertise on a given case.
Our Experience
The best Hospitalist programs incorporate in-person care during the day with OSC Telemedicine at night. For busier hospitals it might be necessary to have an onsite provider dedicated to Admissions and procedures with a telemedicine Hospitalist rounding and responding to consult requests and general patient care management.

Whether your institution is a large teaching hospital, a rural community hospital, or a critical access hospital, we tailor the solution that complements your clinical capabilities. When procedures are needed the telemedicine team partners with the Emergency Department doctor, surgery, or anesthesia depending on the need and availability.
